Rain clouds over flat Norfolk fields, clear sky over the New Forest, ponies grazing in dappled sunlight, early morning mistiness as the cart horses go down the country lane, children paddling in the mill stream. All representing the cause for which the armed forces were fighting and published as a memento. First published in August 1943 the copy offered is of the 2nd impression of March 1944. VG/Good Book- no notable shelf wear or soiling to boards. Slight discolouration and light foxing to end papers. No previous owner name or insc. Binding sound. Dust Jacket - colour rubbed with some loss to extremities - max loss 5 x 15 mm approx around head of spine and 25 mm approx tear to top front panel near spine fold.Non price clipped- cover 12.6d. Light general shelf soiling to white of rear panel. Now in a removable proprietary protective sleeve to which coloured paper has been inserted in front of the stark white of the backing paper where loss to spine so as not to draw the eye on the shelf.Remains very presentable despite stated faults.
