The Foremost American Dance Critic Edwin Denby.- This is a noted work by America's then foremost dance critic on over a decade of dance in the 1930's and 40's - from Ballet to Broadway.Dark blue cloth with gilt lettering and design to spine. 432pp. B/w Frontis photo & numerous other b/w photo. plates. (not listed). Record of Dance history from the author's celebrated New York Herald Tribune pieces and longer essays written for "Modern Music" and other distinguished periodicals.Together here for the first time. VG/VG (book- no previous owner name, residue of glue to front paste down presumably from a previous owner's bookplate. Binding sound and book free of annotations. Extremities of boards a little faded and the gilt to spine is dulled]. The Dust Jacket is ,not price clipped, with some edge wear mainly chips of colour rather than any notable paper loss and two closed tears - the most significant being approx 45mm at top rear flap fold and consequently not noticable and the other being 15mm approx to top front panel. The rear panel which is yellow in colour has a little shelf soiling but overall quite respectable in it's removable proprietary protective wrapper. PLs see our image
